Hey folks! Curious to see what everyone’s “launch” settings are when you wanna have alittle fun 😅 I’ve been using sport mode, Baja exhaust and 4H. Brake boosting to about 2500rpms. I’ve read that the “Baja” mode is better because it creates less turbo lag “ “. But curious to see what others are liking/using!

Yeah I think you’ve pretty much got it down. 4A/4H in sport mode with a decent brake boost is about as best as you can do as far as settings. The rest is up to conditions (ambient air temp, tarmac surface, tyre heat etc)

Turbo lag in Baja mode only really helps when coming off throttle and then back on it again within 3 seconds - so during a hard pull/launch the turbo lag feature won’t really do much as you’re not coming off throttle

Ahh perfect! I keep reading posts about 4A being the better option over 4H? Also when it comes to either, do you completely disable traction control/advance trac?

If you’re staying in a straight line then 4H probably slightly better as it’ll give you 50/50 front and back torque distribution
However, I would be cautious if you need to turn the steering wheel at all, so I only ever use 4H when off the hard stuff. 4A will allow the system to distribute the torque as needed and Ford does a great job with this

And yes - traction all the way off

4H is definitely the way to go. You can get close to the advertised 5.3 second 0-60 pretty easily once you get it down so long as the conditions are right, just have to make sure you're getting the RPMs up high enough to ensure the engine doesn't bog during the launch. You're going to be faster if you've been filling up with premium for a few tanks and much faster if you get the tune and drive it for a few tanks after that. There are a lot of little things that will impact it as well. If you have the beadlock capable wheels for example, they are heavier than stock and the weight is further out on the wheel so it makes the truck slower (which you don't feel so much imo, but it definitely shows up in the times when you're measuring it).

Here is a video of someone figuring it out: A few things they still didn't do that would have helped (for example without the tune you can get faster times shifting yourself). There are others I've seen with people getting faster consistent times stock but I don't recall how I found them off the top of my head.

That said this is all at your own risk, this is the kind of stuff on pavement that puts a lot of strain on the transmission and differentials.

Awesome! I’ve had the ProCal installed for a week now and one fill up. About 200 miles roughly. I’m definitely feeling the difference vs stock. Prior to the ProCal, I put about 400 miles on it the first 2 days. It felt solid, but I have noticed a considerable difference! I’ve launched it once so far(had just finished raining) directly after the ProCal was installed and it pulled hard as a mf. 4H, Sport Mode, Sport Suspension and Baja exhaust. I brake boosted to about 2,300rpms and letter rip! Definitely wasn’t expecting the torque it puts down! But I wasn’t sure what the “meta” set up was for getting the most juice outta this thing when launching!

For the guys who have the pro cal tune, did you install it yourself? Was it easy to do following directions? Did you hook up your battery to a charger like it's reccomended? I'm planning on getting the tune and figure I'll try to install it myself.

The instructions were all easy enough, took about 20 minutes. I have never bothered with a battery charger when doing a tune, but it certainly couldn't hurt. I used to reflash my Focus RS once or twice a week to change between ethanol and pump gas and never hooked it up to a charger.

I appreciate the response. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to get the tune.
