I have their phone mounts in both of my Ford trucks.
I like that it doesn’t block the vents and doesn’t attach to the dash.
Good products.

Electronics mounted up high, in the direct summer sunlight, truly get baked and it is very bad for their battery health, especially when they charging!

https://www.asurion.com/connect/tec...t-5-tips-to-keep-your-phone-from-overheating/

Will the phone overheat in summer in this mount? Can the vent airflow be directed to cool it?

I use a different type of adjustable gps mount and position the bottom edge of the device so that it just catches the top of the cool air flow, it works great this way, chilling the housing, otherwise it overheats and shuts down (the screen goes black and it is dead for about 30 minutes). Please be aware of this important issue.

That is, however, a great location, since you can touch the screen while stabilizing your right hand on the steering wheel.. Comments? Proclip does not mention this issue…. would they accept a return and give you a refund if your phone acts up?

I always keep my iPhone on the factory mag charger, it has an Otterbox Defender outer case, . It does get a little warm, but NOT scorching hot.

FYI - a Cobb Access Port should not overheat, even up high, it doesn’t have an energy hungry cpu like a smart phone.

I can't comment on the return policy however if you look at my mount, I mounted on the uppermost holes bringing the device as high as possible. You can bring it down to the lower holes and the device will be less exposed to the sun (but also less visible to the driver perhaps). I have never mounted a phone on one of these before so cant comment on overheating a phone but I have mounted an AP in direct sunlight on a Subaru and never had a problem with it. I tend to throw my phone in the cupholder when I'm driving.

I have 2 phone mounts in my work truck. The work phone is mounted to a quad lock windshield mount and it overheats in direct sunlight if stationary. My personal phone is in a Pro Clip in the work truck and my RR. It has never overheated in either truck.

Based entirely on this post I ordered the ProClip Mount and I am happy I did!
Got it today and install was effortless.
I first tried the upper mounting holes and decided to move to the lower holes because my phone was too high for my "viewing pleasure." 5 stars!
