Custom Ranger Raptor Lights

I am working on a project right now to make some custom raptor lights for my ranger raptor. I thought it was a shame that the off-the-shelf ones were not really designed to take advantage of the angles and full-size. After some iterative design work and 10+ 3D prints, I think I got all of the dimensions to the best I am going to get them. Next step is to order and print the final parts

Nice, I was thinking about doing the same thing and ordering some PCBs since I've already got the SMD LEDs in a drawer somewhere around here. You should tackle the PCBs in the headlights next for the DRLs and match the LEDs to your new marker lights

What do you mean? The LED's I chose should be amber to match the raptor look without needing an amber lens. Do you mean to recreate the DRLs in amber too?

Yeah, I meant to convert the headlight DRLs to amber as well. That's why I haven't done the grille lights yet myself, I'm wanting to match them all together one day. But I've suddenly found myself with a lot of free time so I may be taking apart one of the modules to see how difficult that conversion will be as a DIYer

Very bold of you lol. I just got mine and I don’t think I have the heart or stomach to take apart my headlight rn. There may be a way to adjust the settings of the car in forscan to switch it to using the turn signal LEDs. There is already ambers in there right?

Apparently the DRL boards look simple enough to swap out.

According to some the amber isn’t bright enough. I’d be willing to try a swap similar to this if the manufacturer was more well known. Diode Dynamics, for example.

Those AliExpress ones don't work on US spec trucks FYI. I had another thread discussing them and another user tried them out

This is awesome! If you end up selling these, I'd buy some. If you decide to release the plans and STL instead, I can print the housings for the community for free (just cover shipping is all I ask from people).

I love what you're trying to achieve with this set up but is there a way to diffuse the light so you don't see the individual leds?

That was the original goal. I’m gonna play around with the diffusion a bit more to see if that helps. This is still prototype parts
