bought the hitch pod light from diode dynamics to install in my hitch on my 25 Ranger. XLT. I found the hitch is solid backed where Im supposed to thread the wiring and there is no hole to thread the wiring through so I can't install the light, well I could install the light pod but not the wiring, so kinda useless. anyone else have a problem like this.

I got the c1r's I had on my old escape, using the 7pin dual harness, I was getting trailer brake/turn errors, as the brake module uses both left and right turn/brake for the brake signal. it stays brake if only 1 brake signal and would flash if you put your hazards on.

As per the ford body builder guide I tapped the 3rd brake signal off the bcm and ran a wire back to the rear for my cap, and the c1r's. I cut the brake module off the dd 7pin harness and capped them and hooked them to the brake wire from bcm. the diode harness still gives me my marker, ground and reverse power.

Yea but you didn’t mount yours in the receiver hitch like I wanted to do. My hitch receiver area is solid steel at the back part and no way to run wires through it to hook up the light pod. I’m not interested in putting it offto the side like you did. I want it to be used how it was designed, inside the hitch receiver opening.

Some people have drilled the hitch, depinned the deutsch connector ran the wires through, and repinned it.

or you can buy the universal bracket for like 20 bucks, and use existing holes under the bumper. or get a hitch bracket.

and unless you run the wire from the bcm to both brake signal wires on the brake module on the DD harness, you will get trailer light errors with the 7pin pass-through harness.

The RR have a hole in the back so I didn't run into that issue but I was getting all the turn signal/brake warnings. During daytime driving I found out if I turn the light switch to running lights it will pop up a message saying "trailer disconnected" and then the goofing warnings stop.
I'm fine with this because I also have amber DD fog lights hooked up to the factory fog light wiring and like for them to be on during the day when I drive.

Yea mines ot a RR just a plain old XLT 4x4.... didn't plan on using the brake light function of the thing was only going to use the hitch light for back up and marker light so I don't know if Id get the warnings when plugging into the 4 pin connector or not. In any event I set up a return with DD and will be sending it back when I get the mailing label...
