So, long time ago in a suburban far far away I was living in while working on oil rigs… I had this 24.5”w x 50”l x 6”h dual drawer thing. When I sold the suburban I thought I might find a use for it. Well, I didn’t want to give up one side of the bed or the other so I chopped it in half to see what that looked like. I liked that I could fit (2) 5gal fuel cans and my favorite cooler in the middle. If I needed a flat space for my Great Dane to sleep while I had the Flated topper on I could put the cooler and 5 gal on the hitch basket. Still have room for tools and recovery gear, etc. I haven’t finished the hinges yet on the new material but it worked with the cheaper plywood until it rained hard and warped it. I could do better on the contours of the sides and reinforce the middle closer to the cab but for now, I think it’s kinda slick. Feedback appreciated!
