The allocations will be manual, as in Ford will let the Dealer know they have this #many# for the month.
They 'may' even tell them the yearly allocation amount so as to give the Dealer an idea of what may be coming (parts supply willing)

If they do it like Bronco Raptor, then you need to be careful as to what options/packages you add to the base Raptor package, because there may be stipulations as to what Raptor orders they can submit for consideration to be built with the allocations they've been allotted that month/months.

At my local dealer during Maverick process I learned allocations are awarded monthly (assuming it's not a zero month). Logistically it's really not possible to award or even announce annual in advance since they don't how many they can realistically build with vendor parts delivery fulfilled or not. That's always a moving target. Also, Ford sales projections are closely held internally and best guesses for customer uptake may or may not pan out. Intersect of actual orders and ability to build are keys.

I'm in a similar boat as the original poster. I bought a 2018 F-150 at the end of '18. My V8 '07 Sport Trac had 164k miles on it mainly because I had been waiting forever for the "new" '19 Ranger but I was not interested in a 4 cyl truck of any sort especially considering that I also have an 18 ft enclosed trailer that I need to be able to pull without constantly being in the boost. I live in west central PA and we do have lots of hills 'round here. I do believe the size of the Ranger is way more practical but the current drivetrain was a major disappointment and just doesn't appeal to me. Sorry.
Anyway, I really like what we have seen of the '23 Ranger Raptor that's been on sale elsewhere but like everyone else I'm not sure how long it will take to get a '24 ('25 maybe?) or what it's actually going to cost. Probably more than I am willing to pay especially considering the almost guaranteed dealer markups.
Then there is the remote possibility of getting, say, a Ranger XLT with the Tremor package and the 2.7L V6. Absolutely no guarantees that will ever happen either.
On top of all that my F-150 just passed the 36k mile mark and will soon be paid off. It might take up 1-1/2 parking spaces but it does have something you will never get in a Ranger...that awesome Coyote howl. ;)
