Best guess - reduces throttle input/sensitivity, turns down power, and increases bias on traction control. Might even increase bias on for emergency braking and maneuvers. It works better than normal 4A/H for sure.

You can search the owners manual built into your infotainment system for detailed descriptions of what each of the drive modes do.

  1. Normal Mode: This is the default mode for everyday driving on both on-road and off-road conditions. It provides a balanced performance for general driving2.
  2. Eco Mode: This mode maximizes fuel economy by reducing throttle sensitivity, upshifting gears earlier, and optimizing cruise control settings.
  3. Tow/Haul Mode: Designed for towing or carrying heavy loads, this mode optimizes gear shift timing for better power delivery and engine braking.
  4. Slippery Mode: Ideal for firm but slippery surfaces like snow and ice, this mode adjusts the engine and transmission to reduce wheel spin and improve grip.
  5. Mud/Ruts Mode: For off-road situations, this mode helps maintain vehicle momentum while allowing some wheel slip to clear mud from the tires.
  6. Sand Mode: Specifically for sand and deep snow conditions, this mode optimizes power delivery, gear shifts, and stability control to maintain momentum and minimize braking distances.
These drive modes can be selected via a rotary dial or button on the center console, and the selected mode is displayed on the digital instrument cluster.
