First, thank you to the forum member who ended up selling his Raptor and put these up for sale.
Second, the search continues for whatever destroyed my drivers side turbo. When I get around to buying and installing the Cobb intercooler I’m gonna check the stock IC for any debris or clues.
Finally, whoever designed the V-clamp brass gasket thing… should be pistol whipped, I have origami’d this stupid thing for over 2 hrs, and the clamp still will not take it. My last resort, is to delete the gasket as I saw on @wintersgarage YouTube install video and hope there’s no negative repercussions. Every. Single. Install. Video gleefully skips over this part of the install., and maybe (probably) it’s just me, everyone else made it work, why can’t I? Well to Ford V-clamp suggestion guy: tell me why the two bolt flange like the right side connection wasn’t an option? Is it because you haphazardly bolted one end and welded the other of a crossmember in that vicinity? Give me a logical reason why you’re making me F#@% with this?

What in the world happened to your turbo?

Is that the only fin that is hurt?

I'm not sure I've seen only 1 fin get damaged THAT bad, without taking out other fins.

This looks like very lowspeed damage, if that is the only fin. Or you may just have a bad turbo from the factory.

They said it “ate something”.
It happened before I put my S&B CAI on. So it’s either the plastic tab that broke off on the top of the stock airbox or it was loose like jordantii (on the forum) then when the BOV port screws backed out some internal bracket from the CAI did it… I’m gonna find out… cost me over $2k to replace the drivers side turbo.
Is the donut clamp gasket a must when installing the Downpipes? I’m beyond frustrated with trying to get it back on haha

No kidding! That stinks!

You should take this opportunity to upgrade to the Garrett PowerMax Turbos. You could get both of them for less than the cost of stock.

I thought about that.. but they’re $3500 plus install and I got my drivers side replaced and the FP tune installed for just over $2000…. Don’t worry! I’m saving up for the Cobb AP and your @Goosetuned magic as soon as I get back on my feet! Are you going to the Raptor rally in October?

Oh I see, you've already installed it!! My bad! Usually, when one turbo goes, the other one is short to follow, given one of them is going to be trying harder than the other.

Can't wait man!! I know you'll love it!!

Yep I'll be there!

So my fight with the OEM donut gasket continues… I ordered a 3” V clamp off Amazon but it was too big even though the connection flares out to 3”, so I ordered a 2.75” and 2.5” that should arrive today.

I reluctantly reinstalled the gasket after I got a CEL, I also saw the passenger side secondary O2 sensor swivel was loose

*** if you’re going to do this install yourself, buy the O2 sensor “box” wrench or socket but I found the long socket does not really have the room to fit with a ratchet.

I fought the fuggin thing back in and applied a little leverage via bottle jack to the downstream pipe to get it as close to even as I could.. i even loosened the hanger after pivoting the transfer case out of the way…
I start it up, and I can immediately hear the flutter of an exhaust leak and the strong odor.

I ordered a stock replacement gasket and clamp as a last resort to have a muffler shop install it should the 2.75 or 2.5 aftermarket clamp not solve the issue… I really like the Downpipes, the sound and especially the tiny “kick/gargle/babble/noise” that occurs when downshifting in Baja exhaust mode.

but if anyone offers a course on how to install/reinstall this marthafockin gasket please hit me up.
