This is about all that I'll have, only adding a Noco jump box and a tow strap. Plus general ratchet straps for cargo.

When I'm offroading I'll have a Plano box with tools, recovery gear, 4 way tire inflator with pump, etc, but that won't live in the truck full time.

... a couple of things I didn't notice in anyones list and you might consider.

Stainless steel zip ties (in addition to standard plastic ones) Even just a handful...
SS racing wire
* easy to stash a couple of meters, wrapped around one handle of vice grips.
* duct tape, wrap a meter or two around a screwdriver handle. It's always with you...
JB Qk Weld ( 2oz kit- tiny but useful)
Sheet of aluminum plate (approx. 20% bigger than your factory jack baseplate OD) - great for shoring up your jack if you're in soft conditions. Easy to stash...

* yes I carry vice grips - if it comes down to it - an unavoidable, ruthless repair is a temporary thing anyway, I'll have resources to make a proper repair back in the real world.

I can't tell you how many times I have gotten away with some serious McGyvering with vice grips. Even I shake my head at it. lol.

I usually put together a small roadside kit for my vehicles since I have to make 1-3 8 hour trips a year to make the pilgrimage back to the motherland. For those that do the same, or augment what is already included with the truck any thoughts or ideas?

So far im thinking:
  • A kinetic Rope
  • Soft shackles
  • Emergency Blanket / Normal blanket
  • Jump Starter
  • Tire inflater
Noco Battery Jumper
Air compressor
bottle jack with extensions
gloves
folding shovel
traction boards
Multi screwdriver
Multi tool
Lots of straps and bungees for tie downs
