I bought a '24 Lariat 2.7 last October for 56K out the door here in NJ. After 2 weeks it failed for a misfire that the dealer had a real hard time repairing. After 4 weeks at the dealer I applied for a buyback and immediately approved. After 6 weeks they finally fixed it, and I drove it for a few more weeks before the return date. In all, Ford charged me $115 to have the truck for ~3 months (6 weeks of which were at the dealer). They were really good about everything. When it worked I really liked the truck, but by then there was very limited selection on '24s and I really didn't want a '24 after that experience. Wait for the '25 and whatever engineering updates between model years.
With the late start on '25 builds and a lot of leftover '24 inventory still around, I realized it would be a long time before I find what I'm looking for on the lot, and went in and ordered one 2 months ago (March). I went for a couple more options than the '24 I originally bought. That and an order and we settled on 58K out the door. The salesman was very clear that this may not be the final price, that if there are any promotions at time of delivery I would be eligible. Well, employee pricing for all rolled around at just the right time for me. Ended up at $54 and change out the door. So about 2K cheaper than the one I bought last year, more options, and a model year newer. You don't realize you want the box side steps, well, until you try and climb into the back lol. The only thing I really wish it had was the shifter in the '24 Lariats (I think also in the Raptors). But I can live with it.
