After reading the ProCal 4 instructions on .pdf, I need to ask this forum a few questions. It's obviously in my best interest to have my Ford dealership do the initial installation as the tune is VIN specific, 3 year warrantee, etc. The instructions state that after software install is complete, connect ProCal 4 device to PC via supplied USB cable. This of course is done at the dealership, but will I have to repeat their steps in order to have what I need on my PC? Any of you that have been there, done this, and can shed some light would be very helpful.
I am not sure but will find out later today when i pick it up.
Ford and my dealer said since its a ford product and dealer installed they would do the regular powertrain warranty.

We are all pumping the brakes and anxiously awaiting your full report. Like a kid with a new toy, anything short of OMG....you gotta get yourself one of these.... is completely unacceptable. Thanks Jason for leading the way.

You know you're on to something good when your wife just asked...."has Jason responded back yet!" The only exit from our home to civilization is Highway 24 with its 60 mph speed limit. Ever since Deb saw our road department's sign encouraging "zipper merge," we both take the opportunity.....each time we drive....to get from zero to 60 as quickly as possible. Like the saying goes: If it makes your wife happy...spare no expense.

First impressions. Its hard to tell if its much quicker however it shifts great and pretty much got rid of all lag. Overall driving feel is much better. I only put 12 miles on it coming home.
Plus it does not turn off at stop lights which is nice.

Dive it like you stole it and report back Jason. From what I have read, your Ranger has some "learning" to do and it takes some time and miles for all to be revealed. Have a safe weekend.

Here is a statement from the ProCal 4 instruction: ***NOTE*** If vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, several miles and/or days of driving may be required for all adaptive learning to complete. Do not be alarmed at shift quality immediately after installing of calibration. It is recommended to do light throttle driving until shift quality has stabilized.

well, how is it after a week?
I do not drive much so have put 10 miles on it this week.
It definitely shifts better. I really have not noticed any performance gains otherwise but the shifts are night and day.
Im hopeful it will feel a bit quicker. I have also been taking it easy on it. Since i have so few miles on the truck.
I would like to add a exhaust at some point to

I'm getting the runaround from the Ford tech line. 4 calls and 5 emails over the last 10 days. They are always "going to get around to it," or they need something else.

My tuner (that I purchased in January in anticipation of this release) won't store my factory config and therefore won't pull the tune file. It says "unsupported vehicle" in the ProCal. I've spoken to three techs there and now finally I am dealing with just one of them. He asked me for pics of the tuner, pics of my screen, VIN, pic of the door jamb. They got all this over a week ago.

Now today they are telling me they need the voucher code again. Sent. THEN they need the actual receipt of purchase (which how could I have a valid voucher and product ID without one?). So I sent that and they say they can't see it.

Too much wasted time - I'm about to ask for my money back and go buy a better tune.
