Gas door stuck closed

Running on fumes and just realized at the gas station that the gas door is stuck in the closed position. No issues so far but I just opened it 3 times since I got the truck. I tried using a plastic lever to gently pull it open but no luck and I don’t want to force it. Any ideas or secret methods to get it to open? I can’t even reach the dealer without fueling first.

It has a push release latch. I’ve never had a problem with the fuel door on any Ford vehicle of the many I’ve owned. Push on the door at the back-end and it should pop open.

If you got it wet in the freezing weather, I suggest you push it and hold it with a gloved hand until the latch releases. Prying it with a plastic tool, will only work if the latch releases. You can use a hand warmer on the outside to warm it up, if you have one.??

Update: I heated the garage to 15C (59F) for about two hours and now it works. The latch had some oily residue on it and probably froze inside the casing. Hopefully this was just a one time thing. Thank you everyone
