Anyone using green air filters? I just ordered their filter for my 2.7. They're big in motorsports, imsa, won the 24/7 of daytona with the ford gt so just curious if anyone put one in their truck and what you're thoughts are. Thanks

I had one in my old Focus, honestly thought it was made better than the drop in k&n filters. Performance was about the same as k&n but it was more durable i thought

It was one of the first things I ordered when I knew I was getting my 2.7. Put one in every vehicle since I found them. Had it in since I got home from the dealer. No noticeable performance change, but im just finishing break in milage so not really ramping on it. You can hear the engine breathing better though, and not obnoxiously. Basically a better filtering K&N since it's woven layers instead of gauze being oiled.

Do you oil the Green filter. I see with modern sensors ie mass air flow it can get oily and dirty causing error codes.

So there's a difference between the K&N style filter (cotton gauze) varied spacing in holes not always tight together and uniform, doesn't fully soak up the oil at points leading to over saturation.
And the Green Filter. Which is layered woven cotton, which provides even spacing throughout allowing the oil to be evenly dispensed and absorbed. If you just provide a light coat all around, it will evenly soak in. I've never had oil drips from green filters after re-oiling or any issues on 5 vehicles (3 Turbo and 2 NA). Not trying to be a spokesmen, I've just had a positive experience since I was introduced to them.

It's a cotton gauze filter just like the K&N but uses a proprietary green oil. If oiled correctly it won't mess up the MAF sensor.

I prefer a quality paper filter element.
Green filters are 4 layers of woven cotton with steel mesh. Not cotton gauze. I know it sounds like a small thing to interject, but it's a factor when it comes to oil retention and particle collection.

Thanks for clarifying.
