This is due to the humidity control programmed into the HVAC system. It can be turned off using ForScan. The humidity sensor on the dash near the windshield needs to be programmed as not existing, thereby preventing the HVAC from turning the compressor on.

I’ve never once thought about how vehicles control humidity

Now I will never not think about that
