After some miscommunication and typos with respect to the VIN, I'm finally able to track my order (placed late November). My Lariat 4x2 is now in production, and expect to take delivery by late March.
Not that I need it, or expect it to be there, it's interesting that this picture (taken from the Ford website) clearly shows a grab handle on the driver's side.

Yeah, my order from late last year clearly lists "Grab handles (A-Pillar) - Front, Driver and passenger-side" under "interior features". My ordered Ranger has been in production for six weeks and Ford could not say when it would be delivered so I monitored my local dealer's website and when they got this Ingot Silver 4x4 Lariat in I made a deal. A bit of an upgrade--I ordered an XLT--but I am very happy.
