I own and drive both the Maverick and Ranger. My 22 xl 2.0 fwd maverick is 3+ years with 36+k miles
Ford Ranger Maverick VS Ranger, it is obviously a marketing issue! 20250617_075050
, it is quick, fun to drive, smooth driving truck and great daily driver. My new 24 stx 2.3 4x4 with 9k miles and 9months is much more capable towing, feels more solid and safe and better in the snow.

Pretty much every source lists the Raptor at over 5300#. All that steel in the suspension, skid plates and a bigger motor kinda adds up. Just take the loss and practice harder for the next game. Or I guess you could claim you miss-typed and left off a zero before hitting “post” 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️😆
I forgot what we were talking about, but that 6170 is GVWR, ie truck and max payload.
Ford list 4x4 as 4415lbs vehicle weight, 4x2 is 4203.

Ford Ranger Raptor as 5325.

Yep and shipping wt was 4451 which is what we were talking about and to the point nearly a thousand pounds less than the Raptor

Totally with you — Ford keeps the 3.0 EB locked to the Raptor here for positioning and certification, which is why you get the pricey long‑travel suspension and the hit to tow rating. The lower tow is mostly the soft suspension, big tires, and hitch spec; a street‑tuned 3.0 in a Lariat/Platinum chassis would likely keep the 7,500 lb number. Short of Ford building it, your best bet is an XLT/Lariat with the tow package, then add interior upgrades (Katzkin, sound deadening) and a quality suspension like Bilstein 6112/5160 or Eibach springs to tighten it up without hurting payload. In other markets you can pair a V6 with Wildtrak/Platinum, so maybe a mid‑cycle shakeup brings a non‑Raptor 3.0 here, but I wouldn’t count on it this year.

Or you order a ranger with the 2.7 that has all the capability and runs as fast and hard as the Raptor, been there, done that!

IIRC, Lariats have 'leather trimmed' bucket seats, not full leather.

I gotta be honest: if I were going to spend proper money on seats, I’d have an automotive upholstery shop (1) put in better foam and fix the sag issue and (2) get some quality Katzskin covers installed.

If you were to get an automotive upholstery shop to do that, why not have them cover them in leather, rather than put on expensive seat covers.

I like it! I’ve had a couple of cars that I was a bit too tall for. Auto upholstery shops are friggin wizards when it comes to removing/adding/reshaping foam. And when they put the seats back together, they looked totally factory. Some of the best car money I‘ve ever spent.
