Previously posted about the misfire in my 2024 Ranger XLT 2.3 l engine. Got an appointment on July 30th to take it in and have it checked out. Had one other strange thing happen. Went to the store the other day and turn it off got out of the truck locked Etc and I wanted to have it cooling while I ran into the store for a second so I turned it back on remotely and took a few steps away and it died. So I'm going to have that checked out too. I only have 557 miles on this truck. And guess what the check engine light came on. The status for that says that I've got an emissions problem. What in the world? I hope this is not going to be one of those never ending problem vehicles.

thanks for posting again, please keep us updated! I have not brought mine in yet. My 2024 is running very well when its not 100 degrees out, but when it gets very hot outside i experience a rougher idle.

very interested in what they about the emissions code.

I have a feeling that whatever is going on with the emissions, even though the emissions code didn't pop up first, led to the misfire and to it dying when I tried to have it run to keep it cooled off. Because the gas mileage really sucks right now. Seems to be running rich. I think it's all tied in together. And I think what eventually happened is something is really fowling up in the exhaust, to the point that the engine light came on.

Remote start won’t work if check engine light is on or it has a bunch of stored codes. Clear the codes and remote start should work.

Ford says: The technician has thoroughly inspected your vehicle and found that overall, the vehicle is in good condition. The brakes and tires all around were inspected and found to be in pretty good shape, given the low mileage of 600 miles on the vehicle. However, the technician did identify one issue that will need to be addressed - the bank one sensing two heated oxygen sensor will need to be replaced.
They have completed a "pin-point" examination of the part and definitely the whole of the issue and nothing else. Yesterday they ordered a replacement part. It is coming from Denver to Eastern Idaho. They expect it to arrive Thursday possibly Friday and then after installation I will get my vehicle back. I could be driving it in the meantime but I don't need to be anywhere and it's getting horrible gas mileage right now because of the failure about 10 miles per gallon.
