This is most likely a really dumb question but today I went to install my AFE air intake and when it came to the instruction of removing the 'vent connector' I simply did not have one. There doesn't seem to be any hoses or lines that are not connected. I have an early model (I got delivery April 2024) on my 2.3L XLT and was wondering if this is a known thing or something to be concerned about etc.

Here is a picture of the intake with the 'quick disconnect vent connector' spot just opened up as well as a picture from the AFE install package about what that connector should look like. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Many of the aftermarkets air filter setups are for more than one particular/specific application. It looks like you have the quick connect mine has (below that location black plastic tubing runs across in front of valve cover)that runs from the air filter piping to the air piping about 6-8 inches before the throttle body so my guess, its not needed for your specific application and can be capped off Ranger on!
