My 25 Lariat with the electric brake booster stops fine. I was real easy on them for the first 1000 miles so they didnt glaze.

Forscan has a 2 step process for bleeding brakes. I had to stop and cancel when step 2 promoted to apply pressure to master cylinder. I know what tool is needed but did you actually do step?

The poor stopping distance . This truck doesn't like to stop. What are the brake pads from? How can I improve the stopping distance?
What brake system does your truck have? Electronic controlled or brake booster (vacuum)? It will make a difference.
As a note if they moved to organics it was probably a cost decision (sometimes half the price of ceramic, for a manufacturer that's Big Bucks) but organics do have an advantage in testing in colder temperatures over semi and ceramic. Also I would advise against mixing ceramics with organics because of the brake force potential difference! Also understand that the pads themselves embed material into the surface of the rotor during break in, even with an undamaged rotor in seemingly perfect shape would need the surface cleaned (resurfaced or chemically) to remove this material in order for a change in materials to function as intended in making the change. Believe it or not Semi metallic offers the best stopping power. but higher brake dust The best choice if available, would be a Hybrid with semi metallic/ceramic. Just my 2 cents. (can I still use cents since they aren't making anymore? Lol)

I had experienced the same thing early on, when I had driven the truck off the lot for the first several thousand miles. I felt like I had to stand on the brakes to come to a stop.

I then had this recall bulletin and took my truck to the dealer for the recall fix (and first oil change).

Since that time, either I have gotten used to it or the braking has improved. Perhaps the dealer had found and adjusted something but my poor braking had gone away and I don't notice it much anymore.
