2024 Ranger XLT FX4 Cactus grey

I just purchased this truck and would like to share my reasons why I choose the Ranger over the 2024 Colorado trail boss, Z71 and new Tacoma. I was pretty set on the new Colorado. A local dealer Dupratt Ford had a 2024 Ranger XLT FX4 4X4 on the lot and wanted to check it out. When I first saw it I said to myself wow this is pretty cool it had all the features, tech, offroad trailer and safety packages I wanted. It even had a few features that were a plus (power control passenger seat).
I took it on a test drive and after about 10 minutes of driving I was grinning like a school boy riding his new bike. I was sold by it's superior quality of ride, features and price
If I went with the Trail Boss I would not have gotten all the features i wanted. The Z71 would have been about 3 to 4k higher in price than the Ranger.

I have included a previous post by yellow bee who really did a great job explaining his comparison between the 2024 Ranger and Tacoma. In a much more detailed review his reasons were why I choose the Ranger.

I agree completely. I was leaning toward a Tacoma TRD off Road with a premium package which would have been $53k. Even put a deposit down to get in the queue for one. While we waited for a Tacoma the Rangers started showing up on local lots and after testing one we changed our minds. We also bought an XLT with FX4 in cactus grey, brought it home in April. Been great so far.

The Tacoma, IMO, is rather ugly and quite pricey. I thought the ride quality was good, though, and I liked the interior. The Chevy is ok but I don’t trust it for reliability. For us the Ranger was the best balance of quality, cost, features. Reliability is paramount for us though so I’m hoping this Ranger proves its worth.
