2024 Ranger XLT FX4 4X4 mpg?

500 miles is not enough to judge MPG. We saw this with 5G. After a few thousand miles, MPG should settle a little higher. Frequent short trips will kill overall MPG. Everyone says the display is usually .5 to 1 mile higher than actual. You should manually calculate your MPG over several tanks to get a real reading. EX: My 21 sits at 24.6 MPG, but real world is more like 23.5.

After 650 miles and two tanks of gas, my 2.3L is getting right at 24 mpg. Mostly freeway miles, but some stop and go in town driving.

Very hilly and mountainous, higher speed city driving with lots of stops (stop to 60mph and stop), and a commute to Denver rolling 85+ MPH. My commute to Denver I see about 24-25 if there's no stop n go traffic, lesser speed (65ish) highway trips I've seen as high as mid 28s. All hilly, and all on 91 octane.

Thanks that's what I'm seeing now. Needed to reset the average mpg gauge. Really pleased with the over performance, features, ride and looks of my truck. Soo glad I purchased it over the 2024 Colorado and Tacoma

I'm a little "against the grain" and have no love for Toyota. Overpriced and underdelivered. They just look cool and USED to be reliable, but IMO their reliability led to boring underperforming vehicles.

I did however shop Canyon AT4s and Colorado ZR2s and would have pulled the trigger on one had I found the right one. The value in both of those is very good, offers more for the money than the Ranger unfortunately and I think look better in stock form (ranger will look better when lifted on big tires). Even then though, the Ranger will kick both of them in the arse in terms of gas mileage. That's not the only reason I got mine, but it is something I am glad I picked what I did every time I fill the tank! The Canyon/Rado tho are nothing to sniff at, very impressive for someone who is anti-bowtie.

Edit: I do think the GM products are the best riding trucks on the market. That's why I'm so keen for aftermarket suspension on mine. CO roads are terrible, and the GM trucks ride insanely good.

I live in COS too! I have only seen 5 other Rangers in town so far, but I did see one exactly like yours a couple of months ago off of Powers and Dublin. Maybe you? lol. I drive a Cactus XLT and was pretty excited when I saw another Ranger in the wild... It was actually the first one (besides mine) that I had seen up to that point.

We saw this with the Bronco too. Some folks were getting 17mpg, while others claimed 22mpg. Based on the chatter, it seems that tires, weight and terrain dictated MPGs. Straight flat at 65mph with a 2wd, you're going to get decent mileage. Once you start adding hills, FX4, LT tires, etc..., you will likely not see those high numbers. For reference, I have a 2-door Bronco Outer Banks with passenger A/T tires and the 2.7L, and average 20-21 mpg, mostly city driving in Phoenix--very flat. Same vehicle with Sasquatch pkg (lifted and bigger tires) gets 16-17.

CA gas also returns less mpg's.

My new Ranger 600 Miles. I've tested my Ranger under the following conditions.
Setting the cruise controll at 65 I can get 27/28 mpg
Setting the cruise controll at 45 I can get the same or better.
at 75 I can get 24
Those figures are checking the mpg after I have reached the speed and then reset and after about 45 miles. I'm very happy with the overall also and that's about 22/23 with air.
