Just purchased 2024 Ranger 3.2 ecoboost XLT FX4 4X4.
I was hoping for mpg numbers to be a little better. With 500 miles on it I'm averaging between 18.7 and 19 mpg.
There's a 3.2 Ecoboost?!?
It's not broken in yet at 500 miles.

Just found these tips on Google while searching on the Ford 2.3 ecoboost engine. First time I've seen a Warm Up & Cool Down Tip

Tips for Owning a 2.3L EcoBoost
Because the 2.3L is a heavily turbocharged engine, long-term reliability relies heavily on proper habits:
  • Early Oil Changes: Do not stretch oil change intervals. Direct-injection engines are prone to carbon buildup, and clean oil is vital for turbocharger health.
  • Warm-up and Cool-down: Avoid heavy acceleration before the engine oil is at full operating temperature, and let the car idle for a minute before shutting it down to let the turbo cool.
  • High-Octane Fuel: Always run premium fuel to prevent engine knock and ensure the computer runs the engine optimally.

2026 XLT FX4 with 2.3L, 3200 miles in So Cal with ALOT of hills and curves and not much highway.... PLUS I have a reasonably heavy foot from time to time, and I average exactly 22mpg.
