2024 Ford ranger XLT FX4 2.3L POOR STOPPING DISTANCE.

The poor stopping distance . This truck doesn't like to stop. What are the brake pads from? How can I improve the stopping distance?

maybe your truck needs the dealer to inspect something? my truck stops very well.


if you jsut wish to change pads and stuff, there are many options for upgraded version from a few places if you google 2024 ford ranger performance brake pads and/or rotors

Thank you, what type are the OEM? The stopping distance is very poor . Just looked it up the stopping distance. 60-0 mph is 140 feet for the ranger. 60-0 mph for the Chevy Colorado and Toyota Tacoma is 121 feet.

My 24 Lariat FX4 Ranger is the same. I have to almost stand on pedal to get it to stop. If you resolve issue Bulldog36526, let me know.

It seemsthe original for the regulars (non RR) is semi metallic. When I check RA it says the original is SM.

Ebc probably male some pads that would help and maybe powerstop or r1 would have rotors. Maybe some drilled or slotted would help clear the gases from the brake surface to grip better?

I agree. It is a wonderful driving truck until you have to get on the brakes. Ok on a casual stop but any urgency at all and you have to stand on them. It's almost like the master cylinder input shaft needs a slight extension. Following for suggestions.

Are these trucks the ones with the old hydraulic master cylinder? Sometime in 24 they upgraded to an electric master cylinder. My 25 has it. When I drove a 24 the brakes seemed mushy. Not like that on my 25.

My wife has a 2021 Ranger The dealer sold us a truck that had shitty brakes they would go to the floor.

Brought it back 3 times and still mushy They say it's stopping 2 years later I was tired of these brakes . I find out that it needed the ABS bleed .

I got Forscan and ran the ABS bleed a couple times Now it's real good almost too good ?
