Morimoto 4banger fog lights - they ARE compatible w 6g

I did some research and determined that the fogs in the 5g and 6g were compatible, which got me wondering if the Morimoto 4banger fog lights for the 5g would work. I really like Morimoto lights and use them in many places on my Ranger. They are very high quality for the pricepoint, perform well and I like the aesthetic. All my lights are the NCS. Given how well the NCS performs I bet the HXB are insane. Note that the fog lights are SAE compliant (street legal).

lo and behold - the Morimotos fit perfectly. The install is a bit finnicky. The housings and lights come separately and you need to assemble. Not exactly plug and play and while there are no instructions, the exploded graphics on their website made it pretty easy. Just make sure you have a t10 driver bit (I didn’t) and don’t overtighten the screws since the housings are a little fragile. More of a factor of designing everything to fit in a small enclosure than anything.

I just drove around in the rain and fog and they work really well. Not quite as bright as the signaturelux, but I’m comparing amber morimotos to clear, which isn’t really fair. The cutoff is very clean on the top and the spread is wide. Overall very happy with them and really glad they fit since I took a bit of a gamble on them.

note, mine were installed in a 2024 xlt. Based on my research I’m confident they will fit on any non raptor 6g ranger. Raptor uses a different bracket and wouldn’t be compatible.
