I love that hatch. I have no idea where i would use it except to wash the top of the truck easier but i love it.


It would actually be great for spring break at the beach. Someone could be up there collecting girls in the bed while another person is driving down the beach

Love the hatch, hate the protruding latches, they are head knockers. They need to be close to flush with the ceiling when engaged. Southco probably has some that will work well, for example.

We are working on a RTT concept that will utilize the turret hatch for a pass-through. Stay tuned, the priority right now is getting toppers on the road!

I don’t get it. What is the intended purpose?

It's a multi-purpose feature. For hunters and photographers, it provides an elevated platform for mounting all kinds of accessories. For camping, it will allow more airflow and accommodate a RTT we are working on. It also allows for a ton of airflow for people who keep their dogs in the bed. We are excited to see how people creatively use this feature.

Norwhal's reply re pricing was that it would be competitive with other higher end canopies. So I was thinking $4k-ish maybe 5k. My wife agreed that even though we were not planning to spend that much, maybe we could.
Then I found the price list.
It is really beautiful and I really want one, but no way can I justify that price.

The starting price is $7395. We have strived to make pricing as competitive as possible and offer the most premium topper option available.

It comes down to material and manufacturing processes. If you look at carbon fiber in other applications, i.e., wheels are 10-25k, a carbon aero package for most vehicles will run you 5-15k. A mountain bike frame will range from 3-6k, and all of these are using significantly less material.

Building these toppers is labor-intensive, and the carbon fiber material is not cheap. We have not skimped on quality, and you will see that reflected in the product.

To quote Keith Bontrager, "Strong, Light, Cheap, pick two."

I have worked with fiberglass and carbon for decades (design, hand layup, vacuum bagging, resin infusion etc - racing sailboats), I totally understand the extra care and process complexity and labor and materials cost involved to do it right.
Your product is gorgeous!

We greatly appreciate the compliments! Apologies if that response came off as slightly defensive. We are simply looking to educate the market on carbon fiber composites and help people understand why the price point is what it is.
It would also be very cool to see what a Narwhal looks like on the Azure Grey Raptor!
