Just picked up my Ranger. Had a cap with Yakima Tracks on my last one (Maverick) to carry canoes. Don't want another cap and want a hard bed cover so I need something I can attach one Yakima bar over the bed at roof height to as the front bar will be on the roof. Can't put canoes on just a bed rack as they'll stick out to far back when towing. I'd like more space between the bars than I get with both Yakima bars just on the roof.
The old set up:

Checkout the Kuat Ibex system. Looks sick, but I have not gotten one myself. I am still in the market. Yakima has a good looking system too. Do some research if your truck was built before July 2024. If so there is a weight limit on the top of gunnels that requires a fix kit.

If the Mav crossbars are wide enough, just a single Yakima Overhaul with whatever clamp set is needed then? Or Thule, Truxedo, Adarac, any of the Amazon specials should do you. Have you found what you need for the front bar?

There are a few threads with different setups to browse through, depending on what kind of cover you plan on getting it limits your options for racks, but for a full height you *should be able to get a trifold if the towers are fairly vertical (like the Truxedo Elevate) but they don't always play nice on laying flat. Hard roll or retractable with T-slots are more flexible.

The Truxedo Elevate might work. Would only need one, not a pair though so that might be tough to find.

Don’t forget to replace stake hole caps with shim blocks to support the weight of the rack; prevent the plastic bed rail cap from crushing

I just measured and I might be able to get the Yakima bars far enough apart on the roof so I won't need a support on the bed. Just ordered tower clips for the Ranger so I'll wait till I get them. Hopefully a bed rack won't be necessary after all.
