Having a possible issue with my 2025 Ranger.
I have a couple of 30 mph s curves right by my place. Slow down. Get through one corner accelerate and then slow down for the next and accelerate. The issue I’m having is when accelerating the steering wheel and truck vibrate very noticeably under light acceleration, but when I step on it just a little bit more it bangs down a gear and just jolts away. And when I say bang it a noticeable hard somewhat slam shift

is this something the dealer should look at? What do I tell them to look at if my one else has had a similar issue?

the vibration in the steering wheel is also noticeable at 55-62 mph cruising. I had my cruise set the other day at 61 and my hand started to go numb after a few miles of driving from holding the wheel. I know it sounds really really dumb….but I don’t know if there is a fix?

I really want to like this truck. But so far every time I hop in I just dread what new dumb thing it’s going to do next….
I try to absolutely baby this thing because I wanted to get 200,000 miles out of it. Always driven in normal mode truck has 3500 miles.

thank you to anyone with any ideas or input.

Only thing I could think of that isn’t a dealer issue is

the transmission supposedly learns your driving habits.

you might drive around a little more sporty or throw it into sport mode and drive it around, well a bit sportier.

you can tap the plus or minus button on the side of the shifter and see what gear you are in and rhe bottom left of the display. That might help you see what’s going on

vibration at 60 starts sounding like a drive line or maybe tire issue

if that is noticeable, than it should be easy to have a dealer diagnose and fix

good luck!

Thank you. I’ll definitely have them look at the driveline and tire balance

Put it in sport for a week or two and see how it feels after that

I tried it in sport mode one day for about 3 miles. Ran at 3000 rpm and had some vibrations so I tuned it back to normal. I will definitely try it again though

Thats odd. I wonder id the dealer needs to look over your truck a bit?

That’s what I’m wondering. But if I don’t tell them exactly what to look at I have a feeling it’s just a waste of money…

Go drive another 25 2.3L and see if it feels different.

Try to set a gear and do some driving with a glass of water or similar and film it, we can do the same and compare if the vibrations are more or less than typical.

Diagnosing a vibration over the internet is like trying to close your eyes and hit a 3 pointer from outside the stadium.

Hopefully they have a ranger. They never have any. I also doubt they will let me test drive but it is a very good idea.
