I am new here. I am looking at getting a Ranger or similar when the time comes. We are a single vehicle household currently. I had employment with a personal use allowed company vehicle, but when I separated from them they wanted the company vehicle back, if you can believe that.

I used to do most of the maintenance on my vehicles in the past, including changing a timing belt on a Honda Pilot. For six years the company car maintenance was done by the dealership. I am not as comfortable working on the Cadillac XT5 as that is our only vehicle, so it isn't like it can be parked for two weeks while parts come in, or I order a tool, etc. This makes me feel less-than-adequate. I am interested to learn if the Ranger is easier to work on, though overall, vehicles are getting harder to fix.

I don't feel I should have to pay for dealer add-ons like nitrogen in the tires, door guards, etc.

I am not here to argue with people on the Internet, I won't be a pest.
