New Ranger Raptor owner, finally joining the conversation here. Took delivery of my Ranger Raptor in July from a dealer in Florida, couldn't find the spec I wanted locally.
Already couldn't leave it stock, installed the FMI 2.5" leveling kit and swapped out the factory wheel setup for Method 703s 17s at zero offset with MT Baja Boss 255/85R17s [about 34.6" overall]. My local dealership adjusted the ride height after the leveling kit install but now I have a speedo issue as the dealer's telling me they can't adjust the computer settings to recalibrate for the larger tires, anyone else run into this and have a solution?
*Note for anyone considering this wheel/tire/leveling setup on their RR, I DO get tire contact on the crash bars at full lock. [This is with 3 sales reps telling me this setup would not rub]
I had the Ford ProCal tune recently installed, no power gains noticeable so far, but I understand that power will show up in the near future. What are we supposed to do with the hardware module they give you after the tune is done? Are there any other configurations we can mess with on it?
Being a first time truck owner, I'm learning the hard way about tire load ratings. These Baja Boss's are E-rated and man, they're STIFF. Definitely a noticeable difference in ride quality from stock. But whatever, just means I need to get out more often and wear them down to get to my next tire purchase. Even with the firm ride, I absolutely love the RR.
I'm new to off-roading, but after I get some proper recovery gear I'll be looking to learn on some newbie trails in the NY/NJ area. [Wharton State Forest Trails?] I'll take any recommendations in the NYC/moderately upstate NY/mid-to-south NJ area that won't get me in over my head!
Looking forward to picking everyone's brains and sharing the journey.
