Not all valve caps are created equal.I have used those aluminum valve stems before with disastrous results. Because of dissimilar metals, they froze on and couldn’t be removed to air down. I brought the truck to a tire shop in Moab and they had to drill the stems off!
Please learn from my mistake and go back to plastic caps!
I’ve been using metal ones since the early 90’s without issue, and they’ve come on each of my BMW’s (cars and bikes). Some of my bikes still have the original 30+ year old caps, and my track bikes most certainly don’t use plastic caps.
Cheap ones can anneal with different metals, so as a precaution a tiny dab of anti-seize will prevent that.
