Powder coated Ranger Raptor!

I have used those aluminum valve stems before with disastrous results. Because of dissimilar metals, they froze on and couldn’t be removed to air down. I brought the truck to a tire shop in Moab and they had to drill the stems off!

Please learn from my mistake and go back to plastic caps!

Not all valve caps are created equal.
I’ve been using metal ones since the early 90’s without issue, and they’ve come on each of my BMW’s (cars and bikes). Some of my bikes still have the original 30+ year old caps, and my track bikes most certainly don’t use plastic caps.

Cheap ones can anneal with different metals, so as a precaution a tiny dab of anti-seize will prevent that.

Not to be too nosey but what kind of cost did they charge to blast and powder coat your wheels? I also have to factor in the cost a shop would charge to unmount then remount the wheels plus balancing them. Still have time to change my order from the beadlock ready wheels back to the oem wheel, then use that savings to powder coat the oem wheel etc.

No worries-

$115 a wheel ($460)
$50 unmount/mount
$50 badges spray painted

Total- $560

They have held up incredibly well. The basic black wheel paint had scratches after one off-road trail ride, the powder coated wheels still look brand new after many trips.

What is the name of the actual color you chose? I think this would look good on the 26 Avalanche I ordered.
