OK, I have to ask... does anyone know the intended purpose of the flat indented "panel" on the rear passenger side of the bed? It has some indents that make me think there is SOMETHING Ford mounts there for some purpose, but for the life of me I can't figure out what

I bought the bracket from AusMotion and it fit up perfectly. Honestly haven't gotten around to mounting the compressor yet - but its on the to-do list for this summer.

You need to reinforce the bed wall to mount a compressor - hence the bracket inside the bed (the ARB bracket goes on the other side).

The holes definitely line up w the ARB - thats what its for 100%

There may be all sorts of options in other countries for all the various holes and mounting bosses. But there's a bunch of mostly rectangular shaped recessed areas like that in the bed. Makes the panels stronger.

This is definitely not just for structure.

Based on wording from AusMotion's website: "This is where Ford have worked with ARB to provide a defined location for the compressor". So I guess that is really it... a predefined location for an ARB.

Mystery solved

So, I’m preparing to mount the compressor inside the bedwall, using the ausmotion bracket. The interesting thing is that I’m told that the ARB wiring spec (not their harness) has a max length of 150”. I’m not sure that length will reach from the battery to that mount location. Has anyone mounted here and was the harness 150” or less? I haven’t measured it out but 12.5’ seems pretty tight.

Planning to use the blaze wiring harnesses to simplify things. Blaze told me anything over 150” would not be to spec. The arb harness is overly complicated for air lockers that I don’t need. I know it can be modified but I don’t want to deal with it.
