I am wanting push to start and handle sensing on my 2026 Ranger. Can I get those features on an LXT, or do I have to go to Lariat?

I think you have to go up to the Lariat package, at least in 24 and 25 years. Maybe ford will make them standard for all trims some day. My xlt has the 301A, tech, blackout, advanced towing and fx4 packages and still no push to start.

Still the same deal, for 2026. Push button start is only found on Lariat and Raptor.
It’s still not offered even as option on XL or XLT.

I used to lament not having push button start on my XLT, but after hearing about relay and CAN bus attacks, maybe having the key is not so bad after all.

Interesting. The 2025 Maverick I traded for the 2025 Ranger had push to start. Seems odd that it would have it and the Ranger does not. Liked it a lot and still getting used to pulling out the key again for my SXT.

Its not even the push to start the irks me. Its having to get the key out of my pocket to open the door!

I’ve had my ranger for about a month and a half. I’m starting to get used to getting the key/fob out of my pocket again.
it took me about the same amount of time to get used to not having to get the key out on my previous ride. At first I wasn’t sure about the push to start and the keyless door entry, but I miss it now.

Yeah, Maverick has it. But it also has a rotary knob for gear selection. Win some, lose some.

It's much like the 4x4 dial we use in the Rangers now, which I prefer to the big, old lever shifters we used to use to go between 2H, 4H and 4L.

Wasn't sure about that rotary shifter in the Maverick at first. Didn't take up much space on the console and although it seems counter intuitive, once used to it you didn't have to look to shift, just count clicks like a lever shifter. When you hit the button to shut off the truck it automatically shifted to Park, which saved a step.

To my surprise I grew to really like it and the shifters in other vehicles seemed overly large, clunky and primitive by comparison. Now that I'm back to only 'clunky shifters' in both my vehicles it's fine but I would be happy with a dial shifter in a future vehicle. Hmm, wonder how hard it would be to convert the Ranger. ;-)
