I ordered the dual one from upr. Hopefully the tamper proof fitting comes off easy.

They do fairly easy and I’m still thinking about the dual. I’ll have to see how much oil film ends up in the CCV side, once the tune is added. With it stock not an issue. We’ll see.👍🇺🇸

Well UPR Catch Can arrived and was installed in about a half an hour. Install is pretty straight forward. The only slow down was the removal of the Ford quick disconnect fittings on the PCV and the intake manifold.

https://www.uprproducts.com/content/5030-298-1.pdf

I haven’t worked with these particular fittings and didn’t want to break them. Made a quick call to UPR for instructions. He had to go and look himself but once understood them came right off.

The QD fittings are blue and unlike most of the other QD fittings Ford or UPR utilizes. There’s a small blue tab on the underside that needs to be pushed away from you, while pushing down on the connector.

Twist the female connector heads flat from the male connector and pull it out. Don’t throw it away, you’ll need it if you intend removing the CC before service. I don’t for see any issues with leaving it in place.

Once this was accomplished it took less than 15 minutes to install the Catch Can with the optional drain kit. I don’t want to have to remove it every time I drain it when changing the oil. I only have to turn the ball valve to open and let it drain into the oil pan with the discarded oil.

Fitting used on either end of the lines are Ford style quick disconnects and are tight once installed. Fitting the lines as demonstrated in the photos below.

The photo below, is the drain line kit installed and some of the routing. The ball valve is screwed into the plug location on the bottom of the CC. quarter turn downward and it’s open. Don't have to remove the CC or drain plug.

I used double tie wrap method, holding the line together but I’m waiting on the proper size Alloy AN Line separators. I’ll post photos, once I’ve received and installed them. I’ll also suspend the line from the firewall once I get the proper size aircraft hose clamp.

Additionally, I opted for the inline check valve. You can see it in the photos below. Works in unison with the PCV, keeping everything flowing in one direction.

Nice piece of kit and easy install. I waiting on the Ford Performance tune, so this a welcome addition for any increase in boost pressure.👍🇺🇸

I’d like to add some install thoughts and impressions of you don’t mind me tagging in your thread.

Iinstalled the dual valve version today.

First, the factory quick disconnects on the main PCV, it would be nice to have a pic like the first below to see exactly how they operate, and know you have to go UP and then back to disconnect them.

Next, I zip tied the main 2 hoses up to the main wiring loom at the back of the engine. Otherwise, the hoses will rest on the AC hard line near the brake fluid resivoir. It would be nice if the kit included some thick hose wrap or something to protect from this.

Finally, for installing the 3rd line for the WOT evacuation, the factory intake tube is pretty soft and not only doesn’t drill nice, but once the UPR quick tap fitting is installed, it’s not super secure and not kinda wobbly. While it would increase the cost of an already expensive kit, maybe a hard metal intake tube with a fitting welded in and silicone couplers on each end would be pretty nice.

Heads-up on the UPR install, and maybe mine is a one off. I ordered this kit last November. Have about 2k miles on it. I started to notice a heavy oil smell outside the truck and sometimes inside. I kept looking around the engine bay trying to figure it out but couldn't find any oil or leaks

Well last week I went on a long trip and back home and decided to check on the catch can. Had a decent amount of oil in it which is good, but I noticed the bottom of the can was covered in oil which you couldn't see just looking in since is a shiny black coating. The magnetic plug option I selected was fitted but, there was nothing on the threads, no tape or thread sealant like on the hose fittings, so it was seeping out and dropping on the engine bay fabric so was completely invisible coming out when just looking in the engine bay. At that point I could only notice a thin film on the silver metal line it dripped on below.

Anyway, All sealed up and the oil smell has dissipated quite a bit. Time will tell if it fully goes away. I'll probably change the cabin filter to help speed the process.

No smell, oil tight and no issue………..however, that’s not a good amount of oil, water and condensation but thank ps for the heads up.🇺🇸.

Well, who knows how much leaked into the engine bay. Double checked and this is about 1400 miles worth of driving. That would be an awful amount coating the back of the valves though.
