I did some offroading today to avoid an accident and clipped a fire hydrant. The RR came out relatively unscathed - Need a new tire and bumper but no other body damage. Need to have the suspension checked out, it's definitely needs the steering wheel recentered. I don't see anything obvious underneath, but it needs a pro to check it out.

Does the city charge for the replacement of the hydrant?

Believe it or not, the hydrant was fine! It has a breakaway ring that did its job. They came out while the officer was doing the report to check it and were already standing it back up by the time I left. No citation.
Well at least you got that going for you. Sucks about the truck. See if the dealer (or local shop) will let you keep the bumper after they replace it. Youll be able to sell the parts most likely for a good amount.

Thanks. It could have been a lot worse, so I'm feeling lucky. I'm considering replacing the bumper myself, but I need to have the truck checked out first to see what else may be wrong.

Wow glad it wasn’t worse & I’m assuming you weren’t hurt. It might just be a win if you avoided the accident & kept it to just minor damage. All the best getting it right back to new!

I'm good, thanks. Fingers crossed there aren't any surprises underneath. I'm hoping to avoid filling a claim.

Glad you and the truck got out with minor damage. Hydrants can be replaced. This happens more than you think.

Dealer just called, no other damage than the bumper and tire. Just needed an alignment.

Not the biggest hit, but I'm impressed how well the RR handled it. The OEM bumper is tough AF, as is the suspension!
