Hey all, I searched to see if I could find the specs on the Ranger and the Raptor to compare, but can't find anything other than what is on the Ford site. I was wondering what is the difference between the Ranger and the Raptor? We all know the suspension is a HUGE difference, but what about the other items?

Transmission: Folks have said it is a 10R60. Is it the same across both? Not heavier in the Raptor? Or heavier with tow package? Same gear ratios? If the same, and the Raptor has the auto 4x4, does that mean that the auto 4x4 could be added to a Ranger? Just programming? Different control module?

Brakes: Same rotors, calipers, and pads? No heavier in the Raptor? Or heavier with tow package? (I found one site selling brake sets for 2024 Ranger there was no differentiation for a Raptor.)

Power steering rack: I noticed the exact same description on the Ford site for the brakes and power steering across both.

Rear differential: Same? Different with locker? Or is the same with just an added solenoid (or other)? I see Raptor is 4.27 and Ranger is 3.73? So, if you swap out the gears is the rest the same? I doubt it with the Watts linkage... Whole different animal I assume.

Front differential: Same? Different with locker? Or is the same with just an added solenoid (or other)? Assume the gearing is different for Raptor? You can lock it in the Raptor, but is that just programming? Solenoid needs added (or other)? Or a whole different animal?

Are the driveshaft, and front axels / CV shafts the same?

Also noticed this on the Ford site - which was a bit surprising to me:

Cab height is 74.4 Ranger to 75.9 for Raptor. Which coincides (closely) with ground clearance of 9.3 Ranger and 10.7 Raptor. I was surprised that there wasn't more of a difference.

Anyway, was just wondering about what is the same. If anyone knows it might something other folks are interested in as well.

Cheers

UPDATE:
I found the transmission gear ratios for both; they are identical - with a final drive rear axle ratio being different. This makes it seem like the transmissions are identical.

Transfer case is described differently as well - "electromagnetical" in the Raptor.

Turning circle is 42.5 vs 43.3 - wonder if that is because of wheels or suspension? Or if the rack is different?

Found brake info as well: identical.

Geez, as soon as I post some questions, all of a sudden I find all of the info online. LOL

Attaching the spec sheets I found. I had not seen these full specs before. Apologies if they have already been listed somewhere.

Here’s a list of Raptor unique items from the On line owners manual.
