Unless you’re rich and don’t care about voiding your warranty, sure.
Please don’t give terrible advice like this
I can’t find one instance where the warranty was voided by installing it yourself. Please share.

Highly doubt you’ll see any direct instances of this happening… Don’t mind the trolls on here.

First of all what do you and I really know about this? Where would you "Haven't heard of any instances" that are in fact true?" These responces "disclaiming" what is to be the known situation whereby only a certified shop or Ford dealer install will be warranteed are annoying and a waste of my time and yours.
Once again, like I said, I don't want to be the guy that has to have that battle when/if something does go wrong. Be righteous doesn't win that battle-

I installed it on my 2.3 this week. The dealer was going to make it much more complicated (and expensive) than it needed to be. Willing to take the risks and have my doubts they will ever even know it was installed. Extremely simple and wow what a difference it makes.

You realize that it is registered to you VIN, they already know.

Everything leaves trax, I had my dealer push to load for $75.00. My last one I did the livinoise tune, I even had the programmer on the window mount in the truck, dealer could not of cared less. They get paid by ford to repair your truck, no skin off their nose.

You clearly don’t know my dealer.
My understanding is the tune is registered against your VIN. It is required to download the tune and is locked to your VIN. If your dealer has a way of circumventing the process you are lucky. Your warranty will not be impacted.

I visited my dealership last week and presented the questions on who should install the FP Tune and how it affects the warranties. Picked up my Ranger Raptor Wednesday and this is the information I received based on information the dealership collected. The FP Tune does NOT affect the 3 year or the Extended vehicle warranty (Assurant is the extended warranty provider here).

I was given the OK to install the FP Tune after meeting with the Service Advisors and Sales Manager and was assured there would be no impact on the warranties. Yes, the dealership has a Tune Tech and has done Tunes before. This was my experience and I am not saying the dealership is right or wrong. I am guessing there are different answers to this question based on what dealership you ask.

Here’s my take: The risk is in the install. If you screw something up you need to reflash and that’s not warranty issue. The tune is the tune. It is software endorsed by ford and you can’t change it. if you install the Ford endorsed tune correctly you’re good. My dealer dgaf.

Man what about take it or leave it. For yourself, this is a Ford Recognized Product, sold by Ford, installed by Ford, etc. Seriously people can make up their own minds.

"Assurant is the extended warranty provide here." That is simply because Assurant is paying the dealer a finders fee for every warranty sold. Be sure to always insist on the Ford Factory Warranty, the dealer is required to offer is for sale, even if it's not the first choice offered by the dealer.

2 examples here: I negotiated the deal for my Mom when she bought her '25 CRV Hybrid earlier this year, the dealer offered a non-Honda warranty, I insisted on the factory warranty....which cost less and offered better coverage. I bought my Ranger earlier this year, the first dealer I went to (Lakeland Ford-Lakeland FL)offered a 3rd party warranty, I insisted on the Ford warranty, they said it was available but went with the hard sell for the3rd party - I walked from that deal. Went to Jarret-Scott in Plant City FL and they offered the Ford Factory Warranty at a lower price with (as I suggested)better coverage.

Pretty sure this opinion is spot on.
All my toys get tuned eventually. There IS a little bit of room to fxck it up, and that gets pricey fixing it lol. Specifically, I always throw a battery charger on just in case of rando power loss.

Ill do it myself if they aren't asking for proof.
If shit hits the fan and they ever needed it, I'll have an ASE mech pre date something for me. They aren't unicorns.

From experience with my jetskis, they definitely know the tune is there. How many times it's been removed, if you went over the bad number of rpms....etc....

With this being a ford product, and not having changeable parameters, AND they aren't asking for proof of who installed it, I just don't see the big deal in doing it myself.
