I guess some people are creatures of habits, even bad ones. You should already know by feel where you're at and shouldn't have to look down for an automatic shifter. Shouldn't have to look down while shifting with a manual either. So it doesn't have glowy lights on the letters. 1st world problems.
That doesn't mean it's not absurd.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I prefer the big shifter on my XLT. Yes, i wish it was illuminated but muscle memory does the work of shifting into proper gear. I don't even think about it. Y'all have this problem shifting into gears? I'm glad I don't have the small shifter. When I adjust infotainment my hand rest on the shifter. It's great

Now, lighting though is where Ford missed. You cant see anything at night in your cab without turning on the light. I want to get some LED to tuck in the console and other places but have not found a good solution. I dont want wires everywhere..anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

The last Ranger with lighted PRNDL was the 2019 Ranger 😤
Nope my 2024 Lariat has lighted shifter. It has to be the short shifter and not the long one.
