Retrax tonneau cover for 2024 Ford Ranger 2024 global market

Greeting

Anyone can tell me if it is possible to install RetraxPro XR tonneau cover (ref T-80338) on my Ford Ranger 2024 (XLT) built for Global market (with left wheel hand).
Top cargo box of ford ranger 2024 is 55.9 in (142 cm) wide, but I don't know how wide is the RetraxPro XR canister.
Any answer or feedback welcome.

I too am considering the Retrax Pro XR. I like the T-Slots for mounting accessories above the cover. Based on the measurements from your post and the Ranger specs for the box, it may fit but what is the overall width. The canister with is ~10 inches less than the max width inside box and the new platform is now wide enough to fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood, so it can't just be the one from last years Ranger. Admittedly, I am not very familiar with tonneau covers so it is probably fine. But since I did not order the spray in bed liner with the intent of getting a Line-X bed liner, they also sell Retrax. Maybe, I just have them install the cover, even though that takes away the fun of tricking out your own ride.

In fact
you must consider dimension of the top of the bed to be sure if the tonneau cover fit or not, in particular, the canister lenght between side rail bed.

Max width inside box (at floor) of Ford 2024 is larger than width of the top of bed between side rail.

Ford provide only these dimensions:
* bed lenght at floor(59.6 in),
* bed max width inside box at floor (62.4 in),
* bed width at wheelhouse (48.2 in or 1224 mm to fit euro pallet size)

But they dont provide width between side rail on top of the bed on their spec.
So I measure myself width between side rail bed on my pickup(~55.9 in), and found that canister should fit (54.375 in).

The cover offered by Ford doesn't interfere with tonneau installation, as it doesn't protrude like other pickups, but fits underneath side rail.
id you don't have sprayed cover, I hope you have at least specific side rail cap on your car.

FYI
It seems that all Ford Netxgen trim (XLT/WILDTRAK/RAPTOR) dedicated to globalmarket 2022+/2023/2024 have same bed size.

I have already bought Yakima HD overhaul kit with 68" HD bar (fitted perfectly on Ford Ranger 2024 bed without cover), and will buy retrax at next step.

FYI I got this one and it works. It's a bit short IMO, maybe about 1/4 to 1/2". Width is not an issue. Length is close but the seal at the tailgate just touches and doesn't really seal well. Granted the Ranger bed has plenty of holes that it's not going to be waterproof unless you do some extra sealing anyways but the biggest leak is going to be at the tailgate. Can probably add or change seal to make it a bit better so I may look into some way to modify it.

Sure thing. Here are some pictures. It almost seems like if the seal was a bit longer and maybe thicker, it would work ok. I think the problem is the slight step in the tailgate increases the distance from the seal.

indeed i can see the gap.
this said, the retrax saiderail should be inside the body, shouldn't it ?
maybe that's why there's the gap.
i've seen retrax on other ford vehicles (F150, maveric 2024), where it's more on the inside, which would close the gap.

Thanks, I'll send them pictures and see what they say. These have 4 additional bracket and the rails sit on top making them sit a bit proud, hence wht they stick up like that. I'll ask, maybe, hopefully I just installed incorrectly. The instruction manual isn't great and videos don't include the version with the additional brackets for the 2024 Ranger.

i've found a video for a ford maverick 2022 installation. The retraxpro xr is dedicated for this truck but installation is always same.

I saw that video. The 2024 Ranger gets 4 additional brackets that are bolted to the bed. There's also an additional seal with adhesive that is placed on the front of the bed (bulkhead) towards the cab. The brackets are sandwiched between the rails and the factory plastic bed side caps. I really wish I would have documented the install, either with pictures or YouTube. Seems like the brackets are there to distribute the load from the T-slot rails but I'm not entirely sure.

Also, I think #1 and #2 should be swapped. One bolt (on each side) is placed under the bulkhead seal. But the seal has adhesive so if you put the seal on, you have to pull it back up slightly to get to the bolt holes and then place the seal over the bolts.

They also include 4 plastic shims as shown in the above parts list (C), but they don't have any instructions on what they are for or where they go. (*after looking at the 2019-2023 section, it does show the shims are used between the plastic bed cap and the metal bed rail where the clamps go. Pretty sure 2024 are for the same purpose.)

My rear seal is probably about a 1/16 of an inch above my tailgate. If the tailgate didn't have the lower spot on its front edge, it would seal great. For these trucks the rear seal of the cover should be longer. Maybe sending pictures to Realtruck would help. They're actively on the 5G forum, but aren't here yet.

The brackets are needed because the top of the Ranger's bed isn't flat. It has a slight hump in the middle. The brackets sitting proud of the bed actually make it flat.

The 5G was the same way and I saw a lot of comments about how it was difficult to fit some bed covers correctly.
