Hey Forum,

I read a ton of topics and reddit on the subject.

I decided to put winters on stock 17" wheels. I'm in Québec Canada with nasty weather during winter and have young kids.

As a studless tires I was going for the best thing I can find and this year the Continental Vikingcontact 8 seems like a good choice for the road.

Biggest size is 265/70R17 so loosing about an half an inch of ground clearance which is fine by me.

Plan is to put the KO3s on Method wheels in the spring for our road/gravel trips.

Am I not too crazy?

Fix your thread title, it says 27” wheels…..Yes, you are crazy, why not the Hakka LT3 in the stock RR size? It is a super fine winter tire, and your speedometer will not read fast. The stock Beadlock Capable wheels are a very poor choice for winter, they are 38 pounds each (with trim rings installed, I removed mine) and very hard to clean. The non BL ones would be fine.

My tires were just swapped over to my new Bronco wheels and I saved 56 pounds of rotating mass and those will be way way easier to clean.

I have a lariat, not a raptor, but I took a similar path: I put Michelin x-ice snows on my stock rims and have nokian outposts on method 703’s for spring through fall. I’d have put non-lt nokian hakka’s on but they don’t make the size I need.

I have the Lariat, but I use Bridgestone Blizzaks on all of my vehicles and they perform very well in Wisconsin winters.

I have a Lariat that I run studded Hakka’s on - it’s the wife’s truck now.
My 2025 Raptor with the winter rated K03’s I’m thinking will be fine to run in the winter. I live west of Calgary in Alberta. Maybe I’m crazy…

Just go with Nokian LT3 Hakka in OEM size, get the best grip without any hassle with speedometer etc 🙂
