RSI Smartcap installed on my Shelter Green 2024 Ranger Raptor

Picked up the Raptor Saturday, the dealer installed my J Braces yesterday and got the Smartcap put on this afternoon. Was a pretty easy install, definitely need the 4 people they say to lift it onto the truck.

See I have mixed feelings here. I want to buy one but hesitant as I thought it would be taller than the roof.
Looks cool but would be awesome if it was level with the roof line.

I might stick to tub rack instead .

I prefer the look of the EVOa Adventure instead of this sport one. For that price, I would want it level with the roof.

It kinda looks like this one (Adventure) would sit above the roof as well. Is the idea that if you have the roof rails - which we don't yet in NA - that "stuff" would sit level across the roof rack and the cap? Like a kayak for example?

The roof rack would have to be pretty tall for it to match up with this smartcap canopy.

The steel / aluminum canopies are as popular as hepatitis in Oz .
Most go for the fiberglass units as they follow the lines of the vehicle instead of looking like you have shrank a shipping container and bolted it to the back of your truck.

I seen pictures of the SmartCap on the 5g Ranger. It looks much closer to roof line than the 6g Ranger/RA ranger

Wow thanks for posting this, now I know I don’t want the RSI, especially for the price. I’m going to contact topo toppers when I finally get my Ranger Raptor and will probably order the mesa topper. It’s like $8k, and can be made into a legit camper without needing a trailer. It’s like a rooftop tent, but you can move the bed out the way and stand up in the bed of your truck. Hopefully someone comes out with a better looking roof rack as well.

That's cool. The mesa is reasonable price for a combo like that. Wonder how much it weighs though.
