Anybody replace there RR running boards The one they came with take the skin off my calf
I step to the ground to get out
I put Gorilla tape on the edge so I can slide .
I would like to replace them with a smaller one. I would remove them but my wife likes using them to get in

Some folks seem to be going with the Go Rhino RB20 or RB30 Slim running boards. Like the Ranger Raptor running boards but narrower.

I went with the RB20 Slims. They don't stick out very far but I think they could still protect from door dings. It's hard to take a picture of how much they protrude, but this was the best I could do. I also like how tucked up they are compared to some others.

The boards are narrower towards the back, but you could actually mount them with the L/R swapped so they are narrower in the front if you wanted to be able to step around it even easier. No one would even know unless they were familiar with how they're "supposed" to be. This would not be a problem based on how the brackets attach to the boards either.

Alternatively, the RB10 Slims are even narrower at just 4" based on this chart.

How tall are you? Sounds like you exit the truck by stepping over the running board and directly to the ground. I am 6'1" and always step onto the boards upon exiting, mostly just to take my weight, but not standing on them. Upon entering, I step fully up onto them and lower myself into the seat. This prevents wear on the edge of the seat.

Your profile pic shows a Raptor, but your vehicles list does not.

I went with the Tyger Auto 6.6” Blade running boards. Super affordable, rugged, and looks great. I was originally going to go with the RB20’s but then I realized the Blades are very comparable in quality and much cheaper.

Adding a vote for the Go Rhino RB series running boards.

The RealTruck Go Rhino RB20 Running Boards and RealTruck Go Rhino RB30 Running Boards come in either protective bed liner coating or textured black powder coat finish. Both finishes do a superb job of protecting the boards from rust and corrosion. The protective bed liner finish is a rougher, more rugged surface for added grip. To save your calves from further scarring, I would go with the textured black finish. It has a smoother, finely textured surface that gives a clean, uniform look.

Ive got the RB20s. They sit much higher than the OEM running boards which looks better and gives a little more clearance. THey are almost flush with the underside of the body panel. Short people might prefer more drop.

The RB20 projects quite a bit from the side of the vehicle, and mine are tucked as far in as they can go. More protection, but not as "sleek" as a narrower option (like the RB20 slim).
