Curious if there are any recommendations for good and honest independent service techs with some Raptor specific knowledge. Don't really have the space and time to do my own. My local dealer seems ok, but personally I just don't trust dealers all that much. Also post if you've found anyone to install the ProCal at a reasonable price. Thanks.

I’m in the same boat as I’m in OC, but seems like dealerships the only way to go for maintenance, etc.

Dealership oil change is $100. The rest of the service items I do myself and log it in the app.

Order the tune online and add installation for $112.

Is this just oil change or the works? And which dealership?

I get the works every 5K. Tuttle Click in Irvine. There’s usually a $20 off too. They over tighten lug nuts but that’s fine, they break its on them.

$100 is not bad, but is your price full synthetic or blend?

I was getting quotes of $160 from Ken Grody, $140 from Fullerton for full synthetic.

Might not be for your everyday service but check out Adventure Offroad in Tustin. Sergio there is super great and can hook you up with knowledge, thoughts on any service / mods, and they can install just about anything. They also have relationships with the dealers in that auto mall. They do tons of raptors from simple bolt ons to full builds. Did my buddys raptor R up super sick and installed my long range america fuel tank.

no affiliation just a great experience with them.

I should also mention they will do service items for you. I dont know if id go to them just for an oil change but when it comes time for shock service or questions about any other serviceable items i will definitely be asking them first / for recs.

With regard to oil changes, the pickup is easy to change oil in. It takes me less than 15 minutes not counting the time to dispose of the old oil. A Wix filter is less than $10 and full synthetic from Mobil, Valvoline or other reputable supplier is less than $50. Why wait at the dealer when it is this easy. Buy a reusable drain plug, attach a hose and you can drain right into the container you will take to recycling.

As to installation of the Ford tune, I strongly suggest you do it yourself with your own laptop. It is easy to get the unlock key and then you can reverse the process yourself if you wish to. You will get some error codes on first start but those clear on the next on.

Ford does not block DIY and I am thankful for that. The truck is easy to work on. Really!
