Softtopper no good for NYC. Going to sell it I think

No theft has happened but I just can’t sleep well at night living where I live with the softtopper. Shame because I love this thing. Does anyone need one? Or trade for smartcap? I hate the eBay or marketplace, I’d rather sell at a huge discount to someone here then the hassle with Craig’s etc

Did the theft risk never occur to you before you bought it? I agree with you about Craigslist, I use it often and always hate everything about it…

Does it fit other models of trucks? You could hang an old fashioned For Sale sign on the back window, listing the vehicles it will fit.

I knew it going in and I have a coated chain I use to secure things, but the hassle is just not worth it. the reason I wanted it is because you get all the benefits of a pickup still, with a tall enclosure for bikes ext.... I plan on hauling dirt bikes ext. so a hard cap wasn't a great idea for me I thought.

Very sad crime is on the rise. I have a Softopper on a 4G Ranger for over 10 years.
Never had it slashed or things stolen from the bed.
Good it does not have side windows.
I do not keep anything that would be worth stealing in it.
If i did i would remove it once I am done with the item.
Its like leaving a locker with no lock on it. With a lock criminals want to break into it.
I have always parked my truck in under ground parking over night.
The Softopper is great for items larger then the canopy. Examples a Matress. Motorcycle etc.
You are not going to remove a hard canopy for this purpose.
