Has anybody seen a small tire shaped auxiliary tank that will mount IN PLACE of the spare tire? I don’t like the idea of the huge Long Ranger replacement, but a 10 gallon additional tank for say $700 would make me smile. I would mount the spare tire on the back…

I am not sure if it could be filled directly from a filler neck, but you could easily use an inline transfer pump to fill it from the main tank, then top up the main tank afterwards. I think !!!!??? There are probably some plumbing and safety issues that I am missing. And emission requirements….

These are common with diesel vehicles.

Comments? Does anybody else think this would be cool and practical?

I have seen them for some cars in the trunk but never looked for under the truck versions.

This is fantastic! Might solve the ground clearance issue with the LRA tank as well.

Not sure if it’s true, but someone told me the reason a larger factory tank isn’t available for the Ranger is crash test safety ratings - more fuel, lower chance of surviving certain types of collisions. I wonder if car insurance companies have any rules against installing something like this.

Definitely interested in this if there’s one for the Ranger. Jerry cans get annoying after a while.
