Anybody else's like this? I adjusted my wheel today and saw the steering column shroud (the plastic behind the steering wheel, between the turn signal and wiper levers) was totally cockeyed! Loosened the wheel adjustment again and when that is open, the shroud wiggles back and forth. Worst thing is, it doesn't go fully level - either really cockeyed or just a bit cockeyed.

I readjusted the wheel, held the right side upward to put pressure and try to make it as close to straight as I could, then tightened wheel lock.

Kind of weird. I play around a bit and don't see any loose clips or anything. Just curious if theyre all like this. Thanks for the advice.

you're SOL. I noticed this after the first month when i got my 25 and it bugged the hell out of me. I took the plastic shroud around the column off and the steering column support is tack welded to a metal bracket behind the wheel. There's no way to adjust it other than cutting that tack and rewelding it. Misalignment from ford on that weld is what causes the shroud to be crooked.

Wow! Crazy. Oh well. I was able to push on it while locking the wheel adjustment lever enough to make it close enough... hopefully you are able to do the same.

I never noticed mine being crooked but I will have to look. I had move my steering wheel when I got it and nothing looked odd but that was two years ago so maybe I missed it

Ya, I'm not too bothered about it being wiggly when adjusting wheel because like you said, how often are we really adjusting the wheel? Haha.

Just annoying it isn't straight

Interesting. I always thought my steering wheel was slightly off because it didn’t align with that shroud correctly. I never thought about the shroud, I checked it today and it’s off.

Sorry yours is like that too.

@landiscarrier and @Bluestra1n : curious if you could check for me if yours also wiggles when you loosen the steering wheel adjustment lever?

If so you might be able to hold it more straight while tightening the lever back down

Yea there is play when I undo the clamp. I did what you did which is get the wheel where you want it and then put pressure on the shroud to get it straight as possible before re-engaging the clamp. It gets the shroud closer to level by doing that, but it’s never as “flat” as it should be.

Exact same here. Misery loves company right ? 😂 Sorry it's happening to you too but at least we have a way to somewhat remedy it
