Greetings everyone, I have a 2025 RR with 500 miles on the clock. I'm hearing a deep, low noise, like a knock, that lasts up to 1500 RPM and then disappears. I can't figure out what it is. It happens intermittently, then fades away. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks and cheers!

Thank you, could you tell me what kind of problem it might be?
Could be nothing, could be a loose vacuum line, could be something else, theres not much detail to go on here. Just take it into the dealer, theres no reason you should be trying to diagnose an issue on your brand new 500 dollar truck on the internet. If it was 10 years old, sure I get it, but shes new.

The truck likes to make some funny noises at time. The A/C pully at certain times will make a loud whirring noise and these trucks like to be warmed up first before doing anything as well and will make a lot of noise before they warm up in general. The fans when the truck is hot are also very loud.

Take it in, dont try and fix it yourself right now. Its ok to be over worried on you 60k purchase.

Does sound a little different than either of mine.
There is always some rough sounds at cold start that seem to pass soon after.

That knocking sound I am hearing in yours seems to be hanging around.
I agree probably time to take it back to the dealer and see what they think.

Here is what both mine sound like during cold starts. I didn’t leave them running for long,
‘I took these video shorts to show another member that his sounded normal at cold start.

My truck at around 1000 km started to have a knocking sound when hot. I would notice it when I pulled into the garage. When I put it in park the sound will quit but putting it back in drive would cause the knocking to start again. I can hear it louder when I open the hood and if I listen at the tailpipe. It disappears after a short time which makes it difficult for the dealer to replicate the problem.

Yes, thank you. I don't intend to fix anything; it's just a strange noise. The vacuum leak sounds plausible. I'm a bit far from the dealership, so I wanted to see if there was any prior issue. I'll take it in for service and see what the dealership says. There are no warning lights, it runs very well, and the noise has decreased since I switched fuel brands. Thank you.

I'm in Chile, in the far reaches of South America... where it ends.

I'm not going to advertise the brand, that's another story. Here they arrive with Euro6 29X HP, and they end up looking like they were made.
Maybe the idea is to give us some guidance. Cheers and thanks!

Mine started making this noise around 3,000 miles. There is another thread about a knocking noise similar to yours, https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/2-7l-engine-tapping-knocking-noise-with-video.20409/. It only makes the knocking noise at low idle when the truck is warmed up and it has to be in gear, drive or reverse. It does not make the noise in park. Pretty sure the sound is coming from the transmission. My truck drives perfectly, no issues, so I have decided to ignore it for now.

Well... I went to Ford to report a strange engine noise. At 2,500 km, the noise was becoming less and less noticeable, and when I arrived at the shop at 3,000 km, we listened to it with a specialist. It was audible, but according to them, nothing unusual for a new engine. No warning lights or other problems. We didn't bring the truck in, but we did register the service call. Now, at 4,000 km, the noise is almost gone.
