I've noticed a tapping or clicking noise that starts when I brake at slow speeds. It continues after I take my foot off the brake. Sounds like a rapid clicking or tapping noise, very loud in the cab. Just started within the last few days. Since the temps are far below zero lately wondering if ice buildup or something. I'll see once the temps warm up. But, wondering if anyone else has any experience or similar issue. Any advice on what to look/listen for? Thanks.

It has been sub-zero here for a few days and mine has also started doing this. I can't see anything that could be making the noise - So hoping it goes away when it warms up too.

We just got a decent snowstorm up here and this same noise started happening this morning. Fingers crossed it’s just frozen or something

I think mine does the same thing. Its barely seen any freezing weather. To me it sounds more like its coming from the HVAC blend system though.

Update: we had a mildly warm day up here 30ish F - I brought the truck through a touchless wash and the sound is completely gone. I’m guessing snow / ice was caught somewhere I couldn’t see 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Apparently its a common problem on a Ranger group on facebook we arr all having the same problem when its below freezing. Its a build up of ice on the frame from what we have been told and it make sense cause people who have garage says that when they let it sleep for the night in the garage the next morning the sound is gone. They are also saying that Ford doesnt have any fix for that.

Yep, the weather turned warmer (above freezing) and the sound is gone. Went through a car wash and sound didn't come back. It has been gone for a few days now, so don't anticipate it will come back. Relieved as I was going to call the dealer this week and I can imagine what they would've all taken apart to find the issue. Just glad it is gone and nothing serious.
