The Weekend Warrior

These are a couple of « before » pictures to establish the baseline.

My plan is to build a capable off-roader , ready to go play in moderate to difficult terrain on the w-e but must remain a reliable daily driver (I’m not too mechanically inclined). It will also need to be able to accomodate my different outdoor activities ranging from hunting, trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and maybe even overlanding (starting to pique my interest).

Mods that are on the way (parts ordered or waiting on part number to become available):
3’’ lift/levelling kit (from BDS/Fox).
Set of 295/70R17 BFG KM3 on Fuel Podium wheels.
Bushwacker fender flares.
Retractable bed cover.
Ajustable Yakima Bed Rack including side utility bars.
Stripe kit (purely for enhanced performance purposes!)

Mods under consideration (budget and availability permitting):
Front « crawler-style » bumper with winch.
Rear off-road bumper.
Rock sliders.
Borla exhaust.
Tune (depending on how I find the performance with all the previously listed mods done).

Will be curious to get your feedback in the coming days/months.

Kinda ashamed to post this but I started this thread and don’t have any of the “main” mods come in yet so what was supposed to go on last ends up going up first.
But...
This stripe kit did give me a good 15hp increase, certified by a genuine PoserPower Dyno.
Also the manufacturer, Bro-Engineering, is currently seeking certification to state that this kit is as effective as a front locker while negociating a Walmart parking lot (in dry weather).But it has hit a snag with the Justine Trudeau government because of high toxic masculinity emissions measured under the newly enacted intersectional climate change initiative.

Got tired of waiting around for BDS to release their Ranger kit so I ordered Icon’s kit instead. Ajustable up to 3.5” of lift. Should take around 10 days to get it in. Will keep you guys posted.

I love Icon's products. Made a world of difference on my Super Duty on rough Forest Service roads. If I do decide to lift my Ranger at some point, it will be an Icon kit for sure.

Good to know, thanks! I wasn’t too familiar with the brand but read some good reviews from Tacoma owners and also from the parts manager at my dealer who’s a Jeep fanatic. Can’t wait!

I think the reason you don't hear a lot about them is because of the price. Their products are a bit more expensive but very high quality.

It’s a Ford accessory toolbox that folds inside to fill the space behind (and over) the wheel-well. You can get one for both sides.
