Hey everyone, we are new to this community, we traditionally were using a 23 Colorado Trail boss for our Overlanding and ran into many problems with the transmission and just some other things (everything has quirks). We recently found a great deal on a 25 Ranger Raptor in marsh Gray! We can’t wait to get this thing out on the trail!

I don't know if buying an over $60k midsized truck going into a recession is going to help with the issue of depreciation? But let's be honest, that doesn't matter, congrats on the new truck.

Recession?….not sure where you’re getting that misinformation or what country you’re living in, but I paid $55,676 just 2 weeks ago for a 2025 RR in Shelter green.

I used the word 'recession.' Let's be precise: the germane point of my comment isn't to debate the technical definition, which is a lagging indicator that tells you where the economy has already been. And even if you want to focus on GDP, most forecasts from leading economists are pessimistic, calling for stagnant growth at best.

My actual point is about the rapidly declining financial health of the consumer, which is a much more powerful leading indicator of where things are headed.

You can call it "misinformation," but the data tells a pretty clear story:
  • Auto loan delinquencies are surging. The number of loans transitioning into serious delinquency (90+ days past due) is well above the long-term average. Some metrics are even surpassing levels seen during the 2008 financial crisis. This means a growing number of people can't afford the vehicles they already have.
  • Credit card debt is at an all-time high. Total balances are over $1.2 trillion. The average interest rate on that debt is a crushing 22%+. People are using high-interest debt to cover everyday expenses.
  • The personal savings rate is in the basement. The rate for this summer was hovering around 4.6%, which is nearly half the historical long-term average of over 8%. People have burned through their savings and have no cushion.
So, while the headline GDP number gets skewed by temporary factors like tariffs and import timings, the reality on the ground is that the consumer is getting squeezed from all sides. When people are struggling this much, it directly impacts the resale market for expensive toys. That was my only point. Call the economic situation whatever you want, but the trend for the average person is not good.

It seems the distinction between a lagging indicator (technical recession) and the current reality for consumers is being missed.

The point of the data is to show that for millions of people, an economy with crushing interest rates and record debt is far more painful than many past "official" recessions. In many ways, this is worse.

I'm not in the market for a RR.

I had a 2019 Colorado ZR2 and a 2021 ZR2

never had a lick of trouble with them and they were both great trucks

I just didn’t like it when they went away from the V6

so, I went with a RR for the 100 more HP

love the RR

but I sure miss that ride of the ZR2

I know it's hard to use the internet, but here's 243 examples listed on cars.com: New Ford Ranger for Sale Nationwide |

Yeah. The internet is hard for some. They MSRP under 60. You can just go to Ford’s website to know that. And I still paid under sticker price for it. If you’re paying more than 60k for a RR you’re the dumbass here.
