Just got home with my 2025 RR last night, immediately grabbed the set of 34” 295 tires on Bronco SAS wheels that use to be on my 24 model, and put them on the 2025 model.

I could not get the 25 model to learn the TPMS sensors.
I thought maybe my Autel TPMS tool needed an update or something.

Well just got back from my local tire shop, and nope. It wasn’t my TPMS tool, theirs had the same issue.
Upon further investigation their is a newer part number out their for some of the 2025 models.

I looked it up on the Ford website last night and saw a new number but also the same old number that also showed for my 24 model. I sort of took that to mean maybe they changed venders not necessarily changed spec. Nope. 👎 They changed the spec too, so no my oem sensors out of my 24 won’t work on my 25 model.

Probably means anyone buying new wheels and tires planning on getting them with new TPMS sensors best to order sensors by your trucks VIN number. The simple year model range may be a problem .

do you happen to know what part number is in either tires? what number does your vind coss too?

mine shoes both tpms117 and tpms68

have mine in a shop rn and gave them a new set of tpms68 for installation, not sure if it works yet. I got my 2025 truck straight from factory mid May this year.

I’ll have to keep this in mind. I swapped my old tpms onto my new wheels on my ‘25 raptor and my back left tpms keeps faulting about 20 minutes into my drive to work and back everyday. Park… and come back and it’s reconnected and we do the same thing again. Tire shop already relearned them.. still happens. Haven’t made an appointment with ford yet.

i just got a fifth wheel and the tire shop had to read my tpms sensors to get the frequency.

Although I’m not sure its is actually being picked up yet.

edit: yes the new tire TPMS is working. It was programmed to 433 :MHz

i don’t which model was installed by the tire shop but I do know they are very competent

Below is what Fords website shows for 2025 model Ford Rangers.
Note the same 68 shows up for both so I thought I should have been golden.

Based on my TPMS Autel tool, and now Discount tires much newer TPMS tools.
Same result.
Tell the tool the truck is a 19-24 model Ranger it reads the 68s.
My tool does not have the data or update for 2025 models.
‘But mine would not read the sensors that came in the 2025’s factory wheels and tires.
It would read both sets I have with the 68s .

The tire shop was not able to even program a set of new ones that would work on my 2025.
The Manager got involved and did find a new part number for a programmable sensor that he could program but didn’t have in stock.

Based on what I have learned so far it seems if that footnote on the 68s is accurate. That would explain why early production 25 models would have still had the 68s and why the parts info still shows the 68s.

Next I am going to attempt to find mine based on my 2025s Vin and see what it tells me.

My 2025 is not acknowledging any of the 2024 models sensors at all.

‘Sounds like on yours, you may have a weak sensor battery in that sensor that is dropping in and out. I would guess if your still under 36k an it’s an OEM sensor, FORD would have to warranty it for you.

I put in. My vin and same two sensors with same notes showed up with my vin.

I may actually go by the local dealership parts counter Monday and see what numbers they get with my VIN. The tire shop did find an updated number to use for my vin, but didn’t have that version of blank in stock. They did have one for what shows to be for a 24-25 Ranger and wasn’t compatible in the test he was running to see if he could make it work. Very similar to what I tried the night before with my TOMS scan tool.

I hate when these companies change crap like this.
Why, why did they need to make a change and why not wait till their was a clear model year change. TPMS after decades of being in our vehicle really should not ever be this complicated now days, yet somehow it is.

I ran in to the same problem with some Tremor take offfs. Had to purchase 4 new Ford sensors and have them installed and programmed. All good now.

Alright I can say TPMS68 aftermarket replacements, do not work and I cannot get to program as of yet.

I will look at old rims tomorrow and see if i can get a P/N off thoes sensors.

What I still find sad and irritating is when plugging my vin into the Ford parts website.
I get the same 68 part number that clearly seems to be wrong.
‘The OEM 2024 sensors I believe are the 68s and simply won’t program to my 25 Model.

I wonder what's different with the tpms117 sensors the 68s dont do. clearly expanded functionality or something. have the same frequency but something about the programming on the 68s don't work. Who knows if the 117s even work.

I think I'm just gonna pull my old sensors out of old rims, put new stems on them and have them reinstalled on new tires.

whole more to this deal deal for me too. Had shop install new tires, goat lift and goat tie rods. They did not swap TPMS after the 68s didn't work or call and ask what I wanted to do they just gave the truck to me with them not connected and said good luck. They also scratched the shit out of the brand new tierods and marred the fuck out of the bolts. Broke a rear height sensor and never put the spare back under truck. They replaced the height sensor but held truck hostage for 4 days saying they hadn't gotten to it, not that they were waiting on replacement parts. funny I saw it on lift and fordpass showed the tpms dead first day. All this has left me sour af only took it in cause I didn't wanna deal with disassembling the coils and what a shit job. I have to go in tomorrow to grab rims and will def be complaining. They also used alignment specs for a 19-22 ranger tremor, which are close to the raptor but the final numbers they left it at are not within a raptors specs.

When I get the rims back I'll look over sensors. see if they take the 117 valvestem or 68 and if there is any numbers on sensors.

Man, that sucks.
So hard to find shops that take pride in their work these days.

If my new tires show up tomorrow as planned, I have my OEM tires and wheels loaded up in the bed now, hope to have my new truck back fully functioning warning light and error message free by the end of the day tomorrow.

Well my old sensors definitely look like the TPMS117 and stem TPMS92 The only number I can really find that crosses anything online is pr3t-1a180-kb. It says 433mhz right on sensor. not sure why the tpms68 or compatible replacements cannot connect.

At this point I think I'm going to just pull all 4 of these, get new stems and take it to ford dealer to replace, have them try what's in there now first. Have to do the ABS recall and AirBag recall anyway.
